Waterfall Canyon

For today's exercise we went hiking up to Waterfall Canyon. We were planning on going mountain biking at Snowbasin, but when we checked the weather last night it said it was going to rain today. Since we were planning on bad weather we didn't wake up early enough to go mountain biking. So instead we went to Waterfall Canyon. It is a really fun hike, especially with the dogs!! Our dogs crack me up, they definitely make the hike more entertaining!! I had never been up to Waterfall Canyon before!! It is so pretty up there, the waterfall is huge!! A lot bigger then i expected!! It was tons of fun!!

Reporting to myself

i have decided to use my blog as a way of reporting to myself what i am doing to get in shape. This will totally kill two birds with one stone 'cuz it will not only make me report what i am doing, but it also forces me to blog!! So my last blog had Sun-Tues, So..................On Wednesday, we once again went on a hike. I am really becoming quite obsessed with hiking, i ask Josh to go hiking every night. We have decided to only hike every other day now.
I was planning on working tonight, but decided not to, Josh thought I was working so when he got home he got a sup rise!!! I of course asked if we could go on a hike, (hoping he wouldn't remember that we went last night) well, he remembered so i told him i was going to go to the gym instead. Then I got the idea to go play tennis instead!!! We used to play tennis all the time when we lived in Salt Lake, we haven't really played much since we moved!! Now we aren't very good and we have totally made up our own rules, but either way its still exercise!! We are planning on going mountain biking this weekend, tomorrow morning to be exact!! Hopefully it doesn't rain!!!!

Getting in Shape, Hiking and Lost Dogs

I have decided that its time to get back in shape!! I only have till June 30th to do it!!! i am having surgery on that day and want to get my body back in shape before then! I had the same surgery two years ago and even though it was a very minor surgery I remember that it kicked my butt! Thats not happening again!!! besides all that i just really want to be in shape!!! I have had a membership to 24 hour fitness for forever...but sadly there is not one in Ogden, so I was forced to get one at Golds....now i just have to find the time to use it!!! Between work and school all my time is gone!!

Here is what i have done so far

On Sunday i had to work so I did not have a lot of time to work out, but we did squeeze in a quick hike between church and work. It was not a very long hike, but it was enough to make my legs sore the next day!!

On Monday we took a longer hike, we always take the dogs with us and it makes it so much fun! The dogs are so entertaining. There are some pics of the hike at the end of this post!

Finally today....I was totally wanting to go to the gym, but then i decided that we should go on another hike, so i get myself and the dogs ready. We were just leaving and josh noticed that the neighbors dogs were not in there yard. One of there dogs got out yesterday so we knew they had gotten out again. So the hike got put on hold and we went searching for Maxine & Larue ( the neighbors dogs.) So I see Maxine in the cemetery behind our house, so i walked clear around to the entrance of the cemetery to go get her and when i got to her she was gone, so i ran clear back around to see if she went back in there yard, she wasn't there. then i thought i saw her running a few blocks down the road so i ran there, and she wasn't there. Then I saw her back by the cemetery and ran to get her and once again she was gone. This continued for a while, needless to say i got quite the work out. Finally our neighbor came home and she was able to get Maxine. but little Larue was still missing. Our neighbors was walking up and down the street looking for her, we had to go to run some errands so we left. As we were driving down the street I notice the animal control truck in a driveway. I made Josh turn around so i could ask if they had found Larue. And sure enough the guy open the back of his truck and there was Larue!! Im so glad we were able to find the dogs for our neighbor!!! (even if it consumed most of our evening) I would be sick if our dogs got out!!!

I think chasing the dogs was the best work out i have had in a while!! One more thing....while chasing the dog i decided to climb over a nasty old rusty chain link fence. I didn't notice till we were in the car going to run our errands that i had cut my leg open on the fence!!! Since i have not had a tetnus shot in the past ten years I had to joy of getting one tonight!!! hopefully my arm doesn't hurt tomorrow!!!

Our Fireplace

when we bought our house it came with a really ugly fireplace!! It was brick, with pink tile down below it!! It was horrible!! and the thing is HUGE its like 9 feet wide!! since its pretty much the first thing you see when you walk in the house we decided that it needed to be fixed ASAP, so we went and bought some tile to go over the pink tile! we picked out a dark slate tile!! then we decided to put rock over the brick!! I love the rock!! thanks to my husband and brother in law we have a beautiful fireplace!!! the hardest thing to find for it was a mantle!! we had the tile & rock done with in like the first month we lived here! but we just got the mantle last fall, about a year after we did the tile and rock!! i knew exactly what i wanted the mantle to look like!! All i wanted was a simple looking piece of wood!! we went to SO many fireplace stores and stuff, and I could never find what i wanted, none of them were long enough, and they were all so fancy, not the look i was going for!! not to mention they were very expensive!! so finally one day we decided to go to a lumbar yard and see if we could find what i had been picturing in my head!! and we did!! the guy let us dig through stacks and stack of wood until i found the perfect piece!! we walked out of there paying only $10.00 for exactly what i wanted, we took the wood home, sanded it, carved the corners and put a glaze over it!! anyway!! i love how it turned out!!! here's some pictures before and after!!

Ravens

I am a total slacker at blogging!! but i am going to try to be better!! I have decided to start with a post about my favorite subject........FOOTBALL!!!

So this season was awesome!! My team *Baltimore Ravens* did amazing!!! way better then i could have hoped for given all the changes they faced this year!! The new coach and quarterback defiantly exceeded my expectations!! I was hoping all season for them to just make it to the playoffs, but then they took it all the way to the AFC championship!! GO RAVENS!!!!

Needless to say I am already counting down the days till next year!!! One thing that has been haunting me the past couple months is whether Ray Lewis was going to return to Baltimore!! What was even worse then the thought of him leaving, was the thought of him going to Dallas!! I hate Dallas!!! but you need not worry any longer Ray is going to be finishing out his career in Baltimore!!! and Terrell Suggs is staying too!!! I am sad to hear that Matt Stover might not be returning!!! I still have hope that he will stay!!! I could talk RAVENS all day!!

i am really going to try and be better about blogging!!!!! and hopefully I will have other things to talk about besides FOOTBALL!!

Summer Time

I have been meaning to blog about our summer, so here it goes...

We didn't have the most exciting summer ever, between work, school and working on the yard we didn't have too much time for fun!! but all the work defiantly paid off!
Josh worked really hard on our yard all summer, and it looks awesome!! We got the new fence in and also finished fixing up the pool!! Both of the gurlz turned one this summer, we celebrated our 2nd anniversary on 8/11 and I had my 23rd b-day!!! We got to go to Cali for a few days!! The house and the yard pretty much took up all of the spare time we had!! Here's some pics of our summer.....

Finally... my b-day!! one 8/28 I turned 23!!! Josh totally surprised me!! We went to the Alaskan inn (Which I luv) and he planned for us to stay in the Gold mine themed room!! And to stay with the gold mine theme we ate dinner at the Timbermine!! Which is my favorite restaurant!! He did very good planning that birthday!! I loved it and I was totally surprised!!
